An independent radio group is looking for its next Selling General Manager to lead a successful and respected cluster of radio stations serving a beautiful coast town. What You’ll Do

As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of station operations with a primary focus on revenue growth, team leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement. This is a selling leadership role, and the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a visible presence in the marketplace, develop business, and lead revenue efforts from the front.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading all revenue-generating activities across broadcast, sponsorship, and event platforms
  • Developing and executing market growth strategies
  • Managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Coaching and mentoring account executives and department leaders
  • Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence
  • Working closely with programming, operations, and promotions teams to maximize audience and revenue opportunities
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key advertisers, community leaders, and business partners
  • Identifying new revenue streams and business opportunities
  • Representing the company at industry, civic, and community events

  • Demonstrated success in media sales and new business development
  • A willingness and desire to remain actively involved in sales
  • Experience calling on local businesses, developing marketing solutions, and closing revenue-generating partnerships
  • Proven leadership experience in radio, media, advertising, or related industries
  • Strong understanding of local sales, sales management, and revenue development
  • Experience leading and motivating teams toward measurable goals
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
  • Passion for community involvement and local business development
  • Ability to balance strategy with day-to-day execution
