As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of station operations and work closely with department leaders to maximize revenue, inventory, ratings performance, employee development, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in television sales leadership, experience in small- to medium-sized markets, and a proven ability to motivate teams, drive revenue growth, and build meaningful relationships within the community. Job Duties and Expectations
- Oversee hub station operations including Traffic, Master Control, Engineering, Promotions, Production, and Programming and lead the NSM and LSM in all revenue-related activities including forecasting, budgeting, inventory management, pricing, and goal achievement
- Create and execute sales events and promotional initiatives
- Work closely with the News Hub to identify growth opportunities and maximize station performance
- Coach and develop sales staff through client engagement, strategic planning, and ongoing mentorship
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, community leaders, and local organizations
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Proven track record as a broadcast sales manager with 5+ years of TV and/or Cable experience preferred
- Experience in a small or medium market environment strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to motivate teams and drive revenue performance
- Proficiency with OSI and Comscore is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with corporate leadership and home office teams
