The Alaska Broadcasters Association (ABA), a 501(c)6 non-profit serving Alaska’s radio and
television industry, seeks an experienced leader to serve as Executive Director. This role
oversees strategic direction, member engagement with diverse markets across the state,
government advocacy, and operational management to advance and support Alaska’s
broadcasting community.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance
• Partner with the Board to set and execute organizational strategy.
• Align priorities with the ABA President and Executive Committee.
• Report on performance, initiatives, and member needs.
• Strengthen ABA’s value, programs, and services.
Member Engagement
• Serve as primary liaison for member stations and industry professionals.
• Build strong relationships and maintain open communication channels.
• Address member needs and represent their interests.
Government Relations & Advocacy
• Lead state and federal advocacy efforts.
• Maintain relationships with legislators and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor policy developments and advise the Board.
• Communicate regulatory updates to members.
Events & Programming
• Plan and execute the annual ABA Broadcast Convention.
• Develop programming and professional development opportunities.
• Manage event logistics, vendors, and partnerships.
Operations & Administration

• Oversee daily operations, budgeting, and resource management.

• Implement Board directives and maintain organizational records.
• Ensure compliance with non-profit requirements and bylaws.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in business management or executive leadership.
• Experience in non-profit {in particular 501(c)6} or association management.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of broadcasting or ability to learn quickly.
• Government relations or advocacy experience preferred.
• Event management experience and familiarity with broadcasting regulations are a plus.
