Job#3296598

A family-owned broadcast company is seeking a dynamic, experienced Market Manager to lead their well-established and locally operated radio and television stations. This rare opportunity arises with the upcoming retirement of their longtime President/GM.

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong focus on revenue growth, this is a rare opportunity to run a company with the autonomy and ownership mindset of an entrepreneur. For current General Managers in small to mid-sized markets—especially those who’ve built their careers on the revenue side of the business—this could be the ideal next (and final) move in your successful broadcast career.

This area is one of the most desirable and fastest-growing markets. With no state income tax, low property taxes, a low cost of living, excellent schools, top-tier healthcare, and endless outdoor lifestyle options, it’s a place where professional opportunity and quality of life truly go hand in hand.

Founded nearly 60 years ago, this family-owned company is known for its commitment to quality broadcasting and deep community roots. They pride themselves on being a stable, employee-focused organization where many staff members have spent decades growing their careers. Properties include a network of 3 AMs and 3 FM translators, along with TV stations, with 12 digital network streams and a strong regional footprint.

They are offering a generous compensation plan with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance along with a 401(k) plan with company match. Paid time off, holidays, and employee recognition programs as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations across sales, programming, engineering, news, finance, HR, and compliance
  • Develop and implement annual strategic plans and budgets focused on growth and profitability
  • Maintain compliance with all FCC rules and regulations; manage quarterly filings and public files
  • Oversee financial reporting, approve purchases, contracts, and ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Manage relationships with external partners: banks, legal counsel, network affiliates, vendors
  • Supervise five transmitter sites and ensure all technical operations meet FCC standards
  • Foster a high-performing culture through training, leadership development, and team building
  • Represent the company in the community and with key advertisers and sponsors

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven broadcast industry leadership with a successful track record in station management
  • Strong sales and revenue-building background
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and maintain a collaborative culture
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Familiarity with contract negotiations, digital operations, and regulatory filings
