Director of Finance

Finance|   Remote


A remote based media company is looking to add a part-time finance professional, which could grow into a full-time position.

The company, previously based in NYC, deals with broadcast networks and podcast business. Each ‘order’ includes multiple invoices, different destinations and needed collections. This is a high-volume business.

There is currently a staff of 8, all working remotely, primarily in the NY/NJ/PA region. There will be a monthly group event for team building so an opportunity to know the team if interested. There is a 3rd party firm that currently handles all financial duties, who will be working alongside the person as needed

Initially this position, which reports to the CEO/Owner and corporate Advisor, will be responsible for:

  • Strategic planning on how to not only maintain a profitable company but to help navigate growth
  • Monitoring of cash flow
  • Overseeing of any company financial commitments/agreements
  • Negotiation with funding sources
  • Monitoring and funding for any company incentives, savings plans, etc.
  • Oversee any needed reports for benefits

Future duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • AP/AR
  • Pulling financial reports on a regular basis
  • Payroll, which includes both salaries and commission, the latter being on collection
  • Coordinating commission
  • Preparing financials for CPA

Needed expertise for this position:

  • Broadcast finance is requested; network knowledge a plus
  • Proficient with accounting software Quickbooks preferred
  • Strong working background and familiarity with tax and corp strategies, practices, and laws
  • Ability to converse with management M-F, 9-5
  • A proven background in supporting revenues in the $8-$10Million range+
  • Knowledge of working with funding sources
  • High amount of work on receivables
  • A creative solution solver
  • Ability to foresee needed reports and have them ready in a timely manner
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
