A well-respected, independently owned media company in the Midwest is in search of a Radio/Audio/IT Engineer. If you have computer, electronics, and troubleshooting skills and have the willingness to learn, this could be the opportunity for you.  This Engineer will be responsible for combining traditional engineering skills with forward thinking IT technology and communications development.


  • Lead systems administration for Microsoft Windows, Google Mail Suite, Mac OS X, Linux, Cisco, and Ubiquiti operating systems (plus others)
  • Perform assembly and installation of user workstations
  • Maintain the backup and recovery operations for staff files and on-air audio
  • Maintain the iMediaTouch automation systems
  • Assist with multiple levels of technical support for 25+ employees in 2 office locations
  • Manage the broadcast properties at 5 tower sites, including STL from 2 different studios
  • Train employees on the most efficient and effective use of the Google Suite of tools
  • Development, construction and instructional assistance of multipurpose and multimedia rooms for presentations, video conferencing and teleconferencing
  • Remote audio broadcast setup and operation including audio streaming over cell networks
  • Assist with security systems on properties and the upkeep of those properties
  • Perform various audio and video responsibilities such as
  • Routing and signal flow

    • Audio processing and compression for voice and music
    • Audio over telephone, ISDN, and IP interfaces
    • Audio and file automation systems
    • Audio and video non-linear editing
    • Image and video processing and manipulation
    • Audio/video mixing, recording, and production + encoding and streaming for web  


    • High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred
    • 2-3 years of broadcast engineering work at some level
    • Experience with iMediaTouch automation preferred, proficiency with Google Suite, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, as well as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
    • Technologically savvy with the ability to problem solve and adapt quickly
    • Thorough understanding of networking fundamentals, techniques, and the OSI model
    • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to train others
    • Ability to be flexible and available for varying show dates and times
    • Maintain fun and positive work culture through authenticity and hard work
    • Possession of a valid state driver’s license with a good driving record required
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at various heights from a ladder
    • Must have a love and passion for the community, music and the music industry!
