Born in Philadelphia and raised outside Baltimore, Bob Stei has been a radio junkie since following the Phillies game on an AM signal in his Baltimore home as a kid. Years later, he would attend Manhattan College, run the campus radio station and intern at the late WNEW-FM New York, where he would be coined the nickname "Wacky Bob."
Following graduation, Bob returned to Baltimore and started in the data/research department at WIYY(98 Rock), gradually moving up to Studio Producer and Research Director. Four years later, he took a chance and a job in the Promotions department at Greater Media-Philadelphia(WMMR, WMGK, WPEN, WXXM, WEJM and WMWX). It would be exactly ten years after graduation, that he would launch his on-air career, which include stops at WBAB Long Island, WZZO Allentown, PA, WRFF(Radio 104.5) Philadelphia, WAFL-FM(Eagle 97.7) Dover, DE, WIJK(The Ryde) Ocean City, MD WAVT(T102) Pottsville, PA, WCZT(98.7 The Coast) and WJSE(106.3 The Shore) in Cape May, NJ, and has served the last six years at WCHR-FM(105.7 The Hawk) New Jersey Shore and WMGK Philadelphia. Stei has also been a writer for FMQB and All Access trade magazines.
In 2003, Stei fell into the world of recruiting, and opened his own boutique company "Stei Recruitment" in 2011. Since then, he has done searches for various industries and companies throughout the world.
Bob still resides outside Philadelphia with his wife Melissa, and their two daughters Kimberly and Charlotte and their son Salinger. Bob loves Philadelphia sports, traveling, classic game shows and is known to be an Anglophile and a super fan of British rock star Morrissey, which is also Salinger's middle name!
