MSN:  Please describe your current position.  How long have you been in the position and with the company?

Jacobs:  General Manager/Vice President - Time Warner Cable - NY

 

MSN:  What was your first job in media and how did you get it?

Jacobs:  Research Analyst at MMT.  Sat in reception areas until someone would see me. 

 

MSN:  What have been some of the larger challenges you have faced in your career?

Jacobs:  Keeping up with the tremendous changes in our biz the last few years.

 

MSN:  What do you like best about your current job?

Jacobs:  Day to day contact with clients and managers and sales team, grooming better players.

 

MSN:  When you were starting out your career, what set you apart from other candidates?

Jacobs:  Strong read of other people, instincts.  HARD WORKER, good listener.

 

MSN:  What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into a similar career?

Jacobs:  Be as persistent as possible.  Go after what you want. 

 

MSN:  What tools helped prepare you for this position?

Jacobs:  Years of growth under strong managers.  An understanding of the biz from both sides of the desk.
