Laurie Kahn hired to present re-careering sessions for Roosevelt University’s Walter E. Heller Executive Career Center
The two day interactive class will address key issues in helping job seekers and those who are employed and targeting a job promotion to attain their dream job.
Subjects include how to assess transferable skills; learn how to research different industries and positions within them; how to develop strong business presentation skills needed in the interview process; networking skills, communication tips for voicemail, email and texting and how to best present oneself through the process. Social networking techniques including how to post, search and utilize Linked In and Facebook will be also be included.
Attendees will leave this session with new resumes; a strategy on how to find their dream job; tools to track progress. Interview tactics also will be covered including ideas on how to better ‘sell’ oneself; templates for posting on Linked In and Facebook and tips on how to personally present oneself for key meetings.
Laurie Kahn, President of Media Staffing Network and Co-founder of All About Careers will be the key presenter. Kahn has successfully launched Rep Temps/Media Staffing Network – winning awards for branding and marketing; developed non-profit programs resulting in generating high revenue and has helped hundreds of job seekers land their dream job. She has developed career oriented programs for All About Careers, Loyola University, Columbia College and various business organizations. She has a sales and management background in advertising where standing out was crucial to her success.
Class will be offered on Schaumburg campus July 30-31 and downtown on August 18-19.
