Media Staffing Network was formed in 1993* by Laurie Kahn to supply temporary or contract workers in advertising sales, traffic and administrative position. Soon after, the company started doing executive recruitment and management training. MSN was the first full service staffing/placement firm to specialize in media sales.

Within nine months, the New York office was opened and remained open for nine years when the operation base was all moved to Chicago after 9/11.

Through the years, with consolidation, new media and changes in the economy, MSN has adjusted services to be of more value to clients including management training, web postings, sourcing and affordable customized search programs. Clients come from Radio, TV, Cable, Digital, Online, Print, Agency and companies outside of media who are interested in finding candidates that can bring those skills to their industry. In 2005, Media Staffing Network limited temporary placement to only handle interim management positions.

*Originally formed at Rep Temps, the name was changed later to better reflect the true nature of their work.
